Features

Querlyn is in development. This page separates what the current prototype does from what is planned, so you can see exactly where it stands.

In the current prototype

The prototype is an internal development build: there is no public release yet.

  • Direct connections to PostgreSQL 12 or later, with TLS, and to SQLite database files.
  • SSH tunnels for PostgreSQL with agent, key-file (Ed25519 and ECDSA) or password authentication, multi-hop bastion routes, and host-key checks.
  • A schema tree of databases, schemas, tables and their structure.
  • A SQL editor with syntax highlighting, find and replace, bracket matching and undo.
  • Schema-aware completion and diagnostics: unknown tables and columns are flagged, with suggestions.
  • Streaming query results in a virtualized results grid, with cancellation, a record view and a value viewer.
  • Editing rows with a preview of the SQL, inside explicit transactions you commit or roll back.
  • Production safety: production connections are clearly marked, and destructive statements need confirmation.
  • Database passwords kept in your operating system's secure storage.
  • Query history kept on your computer (metadata only for production connections).
  • A native application window with a sidebar, tabs, an editor and results split, and a status bar.
  • A command palette for every action, and quick switching between open tabs.
  • Keyboard shortcuts you can rebind in the settings file, with conflicts reported.
  • Querlyn Dark, Querlyn Light, or following the system appearance, at compact or comfortable density.
  • Settings kept in a plain TOML file.

Planned

Planned features are not available yet, and their details may change.

  • Direct connections to MySQL, MariaDB and SQL Server.
  • End-to-end encrypted sync of connections, saved queries and settings between your devices, after you enroll a vault.
  • Teams: shared workspaces, admin policies and single sign-on.
  • Signed desktop licenses that work offline.

Your data stays yours

Querlyn's servers never proxy database traffic, and never see SQL or query results. Connections go directly from your computer to your databases.
